Eswatini Sugar is responsible for the marketing of all sugar produced in Eswatini. The sugar sales are handled by the Commercial Department of Eswatini Sugar, through the decisions made by the Marketing Executive Committee (MEC) of the industry, a subcommittee of the Eswatini Sugar Council.Â
Information on application for a sugar allocation can be obtained from these guidelines. Due to limited sugar available for allocation, as most of the production is already allocated to existing customers, there is limited scope for new allocations. The industry is continuously looking at the optimal mix as well as striking the appropriate balance between improving the economies of scale for existing customers and introducing new customers. The policy is that the local manufacturing sector receives first priority in any allocations , to support high-end local value addition in Eswatini, and to ensure that they never have to stop production due to lack of sugar.Â
The purchase of sugar from Eswatini Sugar for reselling within the SACU market, without first adding value within Eswatini, is not possible. You may be referred to local entities who on-sell such sugar to SACU after pre-packing locally. For that, kindly contact our sales team (through marketing@eswatinisugar.co.sz) for a list of companies that can be contacted.Â
For purchase of sugar for manufacturing purposes within the SACU region, or for selling directly to markets outside of SACU, you can contact our sales team (through marketing@eswatinisugar.co.sz).Â
