Since its inception, Lomphala Primary School has been without Consumer Science as a subject, a fate that changed following a donation of school furniture by Eswatini Sugar.
Located in the Siphofaneni area, Lomphala Primary School is one of two schools that received a donation valued at over E200,000 in brand new school furniture and repairs. The second school is Dlakadla Primary School in Matata, Big Bend.
Presenting the furniture to the schools, CEO Banele Nyamane noted that some of the classrooms were in such dire need of furniture replacements that they had been rendered non-functional, as a result.
“We are humbled to be able to extend a hand that will see the commencement of Consumer Science classes at Lomphala Primary, for example. We believe it is a practical subject, and such contributions make a meaningful impact in the lives of the learners, teachers and the community,” he said.
Part of the furniture was that of teachers and the head teachers, who had been without proper furniture, and displayed renewed commitment to the craft, from this gesture.
