The installation of a Solar-powered hand pump at Emhlangeni Primary School in Bhunya, will not only benefit close to 500 school children but teachers and the community as well.
As part of the MTN “30 days of Yello Care,” Eswatini Sugar donated E160,000 for the project, which pumps 30,000l of water per day. The water will be used for consumption, Agriculture, sanitary and hygiene purposes.
Eswatini Sugar CEO described this partnership with MTN Eswatini as meaningful, impactful and one that illustrates the collective ability to do more, reach more and impact more.
“Such projects go a long way in supporting and complementing Government’s continued efforts to increase access to potable water, particularly in rural and remote areas. The best part of this project is that it uses the sun – a resource that is free and accessible to all to use. This therefore makes it friendly to the environment, cost-effective for the users, and sustainable into the future,” her said.
